The Butterfly Effect

Happy May 4th everyone! To most of us, this day doesn't mean anything (or probably, it's Star Wars day to some). But for the thousands of people suffering from depression and self-harming addictions, this day is a day of hope and a new life.

There's this movement from God-knows-where called "The Butterfly Effect" wherein people from all over the world, suffering from depression or not, are encouraged to draw butterflies on their wrists as a sign of support for our depressed and self-harming homies. (ok, i didn't want to say brothers and sisters)

So, here are the steps/rules of this movement from The Butterfly Project's Facebook Page:

Steps/Rules:
1. Draw a butterfly.
2. Name it.
3. DON'T CUT!
4. If you do cut, you have killed your butterfly. (It isn't the end of the world if this happens, people will still be there for you, but for your sake, try your best to not cut)
5. Let it fade naturally. You can not scrub it off purposefully.
6. Enjoy your life. =)

I have never harmed myself on purpose because, aside from the fact that I feel queasy at the sight of blood and I cry like a baby even from minor scratches, I had God and my wonderful family and friends who would support me in my lowest points in my life. But not all people are as fortunate as me. So, to all who know what it's like to be depressed and to lose all hope, I encourage you to join the movement and support all these people suffering from this sad condition.

I used my Maybelline smudge-proof and water-proof gel eyeliner to "tattoo" my butterfly on my left wrist. I named my butterfly Loki (coz I just watched Thor and I think Loki's such a cutie patootie name). I won't scrub it off, nor would I cut my wrists. *cries from imagined pain* :((((

Hours after I did mine, my sisters asked me to draw butterflies on their wrists too. Genine and Gwen named their butterflies Ploopy and Prince William (Girl and Boy). WE SUPPORT! <3

Happy butterfly-ing, everyone! And May the fourth be with you!

I hate ponytails coz they expose my ginormous forehead

Yes, unfortunately, this is how I look like when I make pretty awesome cakes. Oh, the irony! I have to have my hair up so it won't go all over the place, and I cover my ginormous forehead because, well, it's ginormous and I don't like it.

So last week was our hell week, we had to make 5 cakes in 5 days. It was stressful and for days I looked like that^ but everything was worth it because we got to make "The perfect wedding cake" for the renewal of our clients' wedding vows! HEEHEEEEEEE. I'm so kilig because I believe in true love, happy endings, and fairy tales. Walang kokontra, ok. And I was so glad Genin and I got to play a part in this particular person's story.

Yes, she spelled my name wrong but it doesn't bother me anymore coz I'm used to it and it doesn't really matter because she freakin lovedddd what we made her and her family! <3 EVERYTHING ELSE DOESN'T MATTER.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to make people happy with food. <3

Love,

Cake Mania

This week I got to play Cake Mania, only I was making real cakes for real people in real life.

See you might think 5 orders is konti for a week. BUT IT REALLY ISN'T. Well, for now it isn't coz my sister and I are the only ones running the Cake Shack so it's really hard to think of the design and do the manual labor. HAHA stressful

Cake 1: Bea's Baby Shower Cake
This cake was actually really fun to make. Especially the fake melted ice cream topper! SO CUTE. I delivered it to S&R in Fort and yes, my awesome sense of direction had me driving in circles again.

Cake 2: Kiddie Wedding Cake
It's kiddie and cartoony, just the way they wanted it. The bride owns a farm and the groom works as an electrical engineer somewhere. Hence, the electrical post and the cow being electrocuted.

Cake 3: Desk Cake
This was also super fun! I enjoyed hand painting each of the keys. I used my Mac as the guideline for the keyboard and now it has royal icing stains all over and it's covered in confectioner's sugar. Plus, wood grain. I LOVE THE WOOD GRAIN EFFECT.

Cake 4: Family Picnic
From the same client who ordered the desk cake, a family cake for their renewal of vows! How kyooot. Nothing much to say about it, though. But I loved the picnic basket genin made.

Cake 5: Golf cuppycake tower aka my favorite

Aside from the vagina cupcakes, I also wanna make these for my Dad. :) He's an ob-gyn who loves golf. Wouldn't that be per-pek? Get it get it? O__o

All of these cake look so happy! And their happiness created dark circles under my eyes as a souvenir. O___O

After a whole week of caking, I just wanna watch criminal minds today. Just today, please? CRIMINAL MINDS <3 Scares me to death but I still love it!
